This is not our normal ‘Editors Pick’ but we thought it was appropriate given the current circumstances.

We understand how hard it is to stay on track of your goals when you can’t go about your daily routine or are working from home. EXP|DET is committed to helping you keep your mind and body active. Check out some of our ideas to stay fit, healthy, and sharp while social distancing.

1. Stay Active

Keep your body moving! Many local gyms and fitness studios are offering virtual workouts. Detroit Body Garage (@detroitbodygarage) is sharing daily workouts on their Instagram page and Citizen Yoga is hosting a virtual class schedule to help keep you on track of your goals.

2. Eat Healthy

It’s hard to eat healthy when you’re not on a normal schedule, not to mention when anxiety is high you’re more likely to grab a snack that may not be fueling you the way you need it to. Try an immunity-boosting smoothie recipe or explore an easy healthy dinner recipe that’s designed with beginner chefs in mind.

3. Stimulate Your Mind

Reading and listening to podcasts is one of the best ways to pass the time and take you out of your own reality and into another world for a while. Read one of the top books of 2020 (so far) or binge a true crime podcast. We also highly recommend checking out EXP|DET’s podcast, too.

4. Get Outside

Fresh air is one of the best things you can do for yourself right now. Open up those windows and get some fresh air circulating. It’s also a great time to do something you never have time for – catch a sunrise, go on a solidarity walk, take a solo cruise on your bike, or find a virtual running partner with the Nike Run Club app.

5. Stay Cultured

Just because you’re not able to explore the world like you normally would, that doesn’t mean you can’t stay cultured. Willis Show Bar (@willisshowbar) is offering live music on Instagram to keep you partying from home. Itching to learn something new, no worries – you can a virtually explore museums across the globe. What’s better than staying cultured without even leaving your couch?
