Raise your hand if you’re ready for Fall!

Apple picking, pumpkin spice everything, and cooler weather is finally here, so we asked Brooke Torres, our go-to fashion guru @headtostiletto to share her must-have Fall looks from our favorite Detroit women-run boutiques.

BIRD BEE: 1228 Griswold St, Detroit, MI 48226

The backbone of fall fashion is the boot. There is truly no season like boot season. From over the knee glam to your not so average combat boots. These faux croc-embellished heeled hotties are made for walking. Buy now, thank me later.

What better way to transition to fall than with these sleek leather shorts that can be dressed up or down. The trick is proportions – layering up with a cozy sweater or throw a faux fur jacket into the mix. Bonus tip: add tights for an additional layer.

A classic animal print coat instantly adds glam to any outfit. Treat it like a neutral and pair with a chunky chain for instant sophistication.

CARHARTT: 5800 Cass Ave, Detroit, MI 48202

The watch hat is a functional winter must-have. Not only does it keep your ears warm, but it also hides bad hair days! For more of a statement add a pop of color – I love baby pink and highlighter orange.

If you haven’t noticed, Sherpa is showing up everywhere this season. Cozy up in the season’s most snuggly outerwear staple with a long sleeve t-shirt or layer with denim.

I will sing the praises of the chambray shirt all day. It’s such a cool-girl staple that seamlessly pairs with any pattern, color, or texture in your closet. Peak chambray season is here so take advantage and stock up on a few new styles.

DETROIT IS THE NEW BLACK: 1430 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48226

Tie dye is a colorful, happy, and bright trend everyone is obsessing over this year. Why is it an obsession? It allows us to dress without boundaries and inspires joy during these uncertain times. Love the pattern of swirls, vibrant colors, and graphics on these long sleeve t-shirts!

The ball cap is a timeless accessory. It will always make your off-duty outfit look a little more polished. Bonus tip: pair this basic black cap with a classic camel coat for a cool street style look.

Cropped sweatshirts have become a fashion girl staple. Pairing them with jeans, matching sweatpants, or classic black leggings is a great way to look cute even at home. This cropped sweatshirt is going to be on major repeat this fall.

FERNE: 6529 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48202

The balloon sleeve sweater has to be the un-sexiest name for a piece of clothing, yet it’s a super chic statement piece everyone needs in their closet! Bonus tip: it looks fabulous with slim, flare, or cropped jeans.

Snakeskin is definitely having a moment this season and although the pattern is very much a neutral, it can also add flavor to any outfit. If you haven’t hopped on the snakeskin print trend yet now is the time!

Mules are the inside-outside house slipper and a great addition to your WFH ensembles. They’re comfortable, chic, and the perfect shoe to slip on when the weather gets a bit cooler. I’m partial to the pointy toe mules – they totally make your feet look slimmer!

GOOD NEIGHBOR: 1435 Farmer Street, Detroit, MI 48226

The mechanic jumpsuit has taken an entirely new role in modern fashion. It’s the easiest and most stylish way to get dressed and a perfect way to pull together a finished look on your laziest days. Pair it with a great belt-bag worn on your hips, across your body, or through the loops of your favorite pair of coveralls.

From satin midi skirts to laid back cropped denim, pairing sneakers with any look is a fashion statement in itself. Glam from the waist up, sporty from the waist down.

Whether you’re looking for a canvas tote to haul your gear to the gym or bounce around town in style, these Detroit, Michigan canvas totes totally deserve a spot in your closet. Bonus tip: each bag purchased gives back to women artisans in Saidpur, Bangladesh.
